It was a big night last Friday night at Portland's latest and greatest cart pod. Now dubbed "SuperPod" by many of thoses in the food cart industry, Cart Row turned up the heat on a rainy and wet opening night.
The event made quick work of the free Hopworks Beer and the music was grooving...Great job Mike McKinnon (Potato Champion) for organizing and hosting a perfect night. The inside skinny is that another great cart will be joining the the top tier line-up by the end of this month...stay tuned!
Great inaugural night at Portland Feast! The sandwiches were out of control...from po' boy to banh mi, the culinary talent was on a whole new level of tasty. The voting at the end of the night went to Naomi Pomeroy but we think the voting was Bush (rigged like Florida)...Aaron Franklin (Franklin BBQ) and Rodney Muirhead's Podnah's Pit BBQ) smoked prime rib, jalapeno and cheese-sauce sandwich was hands down the best sandwich of the night. Them Texas boys got some serious meat skills.
We are looking forward to tonight's sold out Portland Night Market at the Ecotrust Building. "Outdoor celebration of global street food..." ooohh mmyyy. Pictures to follow of our favorite broker/volunteer Adam Khawaja aka. The Purple Sheik

Urban Works represented both Beam Development and Tommy. Now you'll be able to enjoy your pork belly sandwich with some tunes and a shot of whiskey! Eater PDX just interviewed Tommy Habetz, of Bunk Sandwich and soon-to-be Bunk Bar fame, one unusual snippet from the interview:
How did you first come up with the idea?
I stole it from the person who came up with the idea of public
drinking establishments. I think his name was Joey Joe Joe Junior
The Oregonian featured an article today about Eco Flats, a new mixed-use project breaking ground in February on North Williams! We are pleased to have represented the developers, 3935 N. Williams, LLC, in this transaction, and we're excited to watch development progress on this formerly dilapidated site!
As Willamette Week reported last August, Chef Greg Perrault left D.O.C. for greener pastures. He has just landed a location for his own restaurant venture with friend & business partner Matthew Peterson. They have inked a lease at 2215 E. Burnside (pictured above), next door to Heart Coffee & Roasting. They plan to open in June!
Urban Works is proud to have represented both Olympic Provisionsand Beam Developmentin Portland's first full-service salumeria (look it up). Mike Thelin (ex-Urban broker & Food Editor at Portland Monthly) and Kathleen Healy negotiated the lease transaction for both real estate parties.
The eclectic, charcuterie restaurant will not only cure their own cuts of meat on premises with hard to obtain USDA-certification but will also prepare fresh chorizos such as Basque, Madrid and Catalonion variations and dry salamis. The restaurant menu items also promise to be as interesting with pork rillettes hand pies, steamed mussels with hot sopressata, grilled octopus with chile relish, etc. This place is gonna smoke it!
