In keeping up with tradition, WE (Urban Works) will cover events form Portland's annual FEAST - A Celebration of Oregon Bounty.
In only it's second year, FEAST has become one of the nations best food festivals, with events ranging from wine tastings, beer pairings and cooking showcases, all jam packed in a four day extravaganza. I had the pleasure to attend the Widmer Sandwich Invitational last night. The line up featured some pretty heavy hitters: Tommy Habetz & Nick Wood - BUNK Sandwiches, Jason Barwikowski - Woodsman Tavern, Rick Gencarelli - Lardo... Just to name a few. In the end, David Kreifel - Laurelhurst Market, took home the trophy for best sandwich, which consisted of smoked beef tongue with pasilla peppers... MMMMmmmmm! Adam Sappington from Portland's Country Cat took home the popular vote, with his lambwich-style sliders. My personal favorite was BUNK's pork belly torta (pictured above)... Hopefully you'll get chance to attend one of the events this weekend, as the festival ends Sunday!
