Great news for the Eliot Neighborhood! New Seasons Market will open a new 30,000 grocery store in the Eliot Neighborhood in 2013. The future location will be at the intersections of NE Fremont Street between North Williams and Vancouver Avenues in Portland. The long vacated and blighted blocks previously known as Interstate Bakeries (Bakery Blocks) will now be redeveloped into a mixed-use project by Ivy Street Partners.
New Seasons Market has successfully opened urban grocery stores throughout Portland and sparked healthy community revitalization in city neighborhoods that have been designated as "food deserts" by the PDC. The subject store will bring more than 150 new jobs with healthcare and benefits to the neighborhood. The Eliot store will be New Seasons Market's 13th store.
Urban Works Real Estate is proud to have negotiated the long term lease on behalf of both the developer and New Seasons Market.

I am very excited for this store to open. It will be directly on my way home from work. Don't enjoy shopping at other New Seasons due to the parking conditions. Hopefully, they've planned this well and are accommodating heavy traffic.
